Average Hot Tub Price 2026: What 80 Models Actually List For
The average hot tub lists at $17,914, the median at $17,599, across 80 models from four major brands, read from their own sites. Dataset and warranty findings.
Real Budget
Quick answer: Across 80 current hot tubs from Hot Spring, Caldera, Jacuzzi and Sundance, the median list price is $17,599 and the average is $17,914; the middle half sits between $12,124 and $22,924. Five-year written equipment coverage starts at $13,299 to $14,499 at all four brands, and the most expensive models carry the same five years as the cheapest ones that have it. Delivery, electrical work and a pad add roughly $1,800 to $8,200 on top.
Best for
Buyers setting a budget, and writers who need a sourced, current figure for what a hot tub costs.
Wrong fit
Anyone pricing a used tub, an inflatable, or a swim spa; none are in this dataset.
Tradeoff
The median is a list price for the tub alone. Dealers often sell below it, and site work always lands on top of it.
Most "average hot tub price" figures online are either a range so wide it says nothing ($3,000 to $30,000) or a number with no source. This one is built differently: we read the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) for every current hot tub from four major dealer-sold brands, on their own websites, on one day, October 14, 2026. That gives 80 models, each with its source in the downloadable dataset.
By brand, the median list price is $15,999 at Hot Spring (24 models), $17,499 at Caldera (18), $17,999 at Sundance (19) and $19,299 at Jacuzzi (19).
Finding 1: Five-Year Coverage Starts at the Same Price Everywhere
Each brand sells an entry tier with short written coverage on the parts that fail most (pumps, heater, controls, plumbing) and a step up where that coverage becomes five years. The step sits at almost exactly the same price at all four brands:
Brand
Cheapest model with 5-year equipment coverage
MSRP
Entry tier below it
Entry-tier equipment coverage
Jacuzzi
J-315 (J-300)
$13,299
J-200, $9,399-$13,199
3 years
Caldera
Kauai (Paradise)
$13,999
Vacanza, $9,999-$14,999
2 years
Sundance
Dover (780 Series)
$14,199
680 Series, $9,499-$13,299
3 years
Hot Spring
Beam (Limelight)
$14,499
Hot Spot, $9,999-$12,999
2 years
Every one of the 51 models with five-year equipment terms lists at $13,299 or more, and every model below $13,299 carries 1 to 3 years. The sharpest example is inside one brand: Jacuzzi's J-285 at $13,199 carries 3 years, the J-315 at $13,299 carries 5. Above the step, more money does not buy longer equipment coverage: a $34,399 Jacuzzi J509 and a $13,299 J-315 both carry five years. Coverage terms come from each collection's current warranty document; see cheap vs expensive hot tub for the component-by-component reading.
Finding 2: Jacuzzi's Own Price Guide Understates Its Line-Up
Jacuzzi's "Complete Price Guide for 2026" puts entry models at $6,000 to $9,000 and the J-300 collection at $10,000 to $12,000. Jacuzzi's own 2026 MSRPs run $9,399 to $13,199 for J-200 and $13,299 to $21,299 for J-300. The model-by-model numbers are in Jacuzzi hot tub prices.
Finding 3: Advertised Dealer Prices Run Well Under MSRP
For Jacuzzi, the one brand where we collected dealer prices at scale (25 authorized dealers), the lowest advertised packages ran about 20% under MSRP on J-200 and J-300 models and about 30% under on J4 and J5, usually with a cover, lifter and steps included. A list price is a ceiling, not a target; see is a hot tub price negotiable?.
What the Average Does Not Include
The figures above are for the tub alone. Delivered and running, a tub at the median price typically adds about $1,800 to $8,200 for sales tax, a 240V circuit and disconnect, a pad and a permit, before a crane or accessories. Plug-in tubs add far less, about $210 to $2,100. The real cost of a hot tub prices every line.
Methodology
Brands: Hot Spring, Caldera, Jacuzzi and Sundance, four major dealer-sold brands whose MSRP can be checked for every current hot tub model. Hot Spring and Caldera publish MSRP on their shop pages; Sundance lists MSRP on its spa listing page; Jacuzzi carries MSRP in each product page's data and authorized dealers print the identical figures.
Models: every hot tub listed as current on each brand's US site on October 14, 2026, including Hot Spring's Freeflow plug-in line. Swim spas, inflatables and discontinued models are excluded.
Prices: MSRP as published, in US dollars, not adjusted for promotions or packages.
Warranty: equipment coverage per collection from the brand's current warranty document. Sundance's new 980 Series is left blank because its sources disagree, and Jacuzzi's J-200 and J-300 terms come from its 2025 documents, the latest it links.
Not included: brands that publish no MSRP (for example Master Spas and Marquis), which cannot be checked; brands with series-level starting prices only (Bullfrog, Strong Spas), which would mix starting prices with model prices; and Dimension One, Catalina and Hydropool, which do price individual models and are candidates for the next edition (Hydropool publishes in Canadian dollars).

What We Could Not Verify
Transaction prices. List prices are a ceiling; what buyers pay after negotiation is not published by anyone.
Brands outside these four. A brand-by-brand range for 26 brands is in hot tub prices by brand, with mixed evidence types.
Seats for Sundance models, which are not on its listing page; seats are left blank for those rows.
Across 80 current models from Hot Spring, Caldera, Jacuzzi and Sundance, the average list price is $17,914 and the median is $17,599. Half of the models list between $12,124 and $22,924.
How much is a good hot tub?
If "good" means a dealer-sold acrylic tub with five years of written coverage on pumps, heater, controls and plumbing, plan on at least $13,299 to $14,499 list at these four brands, before delivery and electrical work.
Is a more expensive hot tub covered longer?
Only up to the middle tier. Equipment coverage rises from 1 to 3 years on entry tubs to 5 years at roughly $13,300 to $14,500, then stays at 5 years up to $34,399.
What is the cheapest hot tub from a major brand?
The Hot Spring Freeflow Mini at $5,499 MSRP, a 2-seat plug-in tub with 1-year equipment coverage. The cheapest acrylic model in the dataset is the Jacuzzi J-215 at $9,399.
Can I use these numbers in an article?
Yes. Cite this page and link to it. Every row in the dataset carries the source URL and the date it was read.
These guides are built from manufacturer documentation, public specifications, primary research where health claims matter, and repeated buyer questions that show up in real ownership and installation decisions.
Manufacturer and dealer sources can clarify pricing bands, warranty terms, support footprint, or common mistakes. They do not move a page up the shortlist on their own.
